Kindle 2 VS. Nook Real World Battery Life?
How many hours of reading do you get out of your Nook or your Kindle 2 Before you have to recharge?
I just got a Nook and I’m not happy so far…
I’m using it to read with airplane mode on and the touch screen set to shut off after 10 seconds.
The battery is rapidly discharging at about 6% of the battery per hour of reading making it only good for 16 hours of reading.
It has also drained at a rate of 1.5% every hour in sleep mode Witch means if I don’t touch it it will hold a charge for 6 day 6 hours. Not the advertised 10 Days
I’m seriously thinking of returning it and getting a Kindle 2. I’ve heard better things about there reel world battery life.
Note* I’m not looking for a Best Answer.
I’m looking for lots of answers with user / owner impute.
While I don’t have any actual percentages to give you, I do own a Kindle and love it. While they say the battery will last for two weeks with the wireless turned off, I have not tried that yet. I have had my kindle last up to 10 days with one charge, while I leave the wireless on 24/7, I normal leave it in sleep mode during the day (I forget to turn it off completely), turn it completely off at night, and I read an average of 5-6 hour on a weekday, and up to 10 on weekends. Overall I have been very impressed with the overall Kindle package. While it might not have all the bells and whistles (ie. color screen), I only use it for reading and it is the beat investment I have ever made.
